The Lynx

The Lynx is the official logo of the Washington Ship Model Society, and the name of our newsletter. Published as often as monthly, the newsletter has been in continuous publication since 1929, more than 85 years. Each newsletter includes information on club meetings and, when available, shop notes and other information that benefits members of the society.

The Lynx takes its name from the topsail schooner built by Thomas Kemp in 1812 in Fell's Point, Maryland. She was constructed as a blockade runner and privateer.

A working replica of the Lynx is home ported at Nantucket, MA and offers public sailings.  For more information, see our links page.
