Regular Meetings

Regular face to face meetings have resumed, but as an added benefit are being broadcast on ZOOM so that those who cannot attend in person can still participate. The ZOOM invitation link is emailed to all members several days prior to the meeting.

The society conducts regular monthly meetings, alternating between Virginia and Maryland locations: Virginia in odd numbered months, and Maryland on even numbered months of the year.  Meetings are open to visitors. The meeting format consists of brief society business, informal discussions of members' model projects and a program or presentation relating to a nautical or ship modeling topic.

Meeting topics may include technique demonstrations, discussions of particular vessels or vessel types, and other subjects of general interest to the club. Members are also invited to bring their own projects, whether in-progress or complete, to share with other members. They are also encouraged to talk about modeling problems they are encountering. Often, a discussion with other members will identify a solution to these problems.

A typical agenda is as follows:
1000 - Skipper's or First Mate's remarks
1010 - Treasurer's Report
1015 - Feature program of interest to ship model makers
1100 - Individual Show and Tell
1140 - Business Meeting
     1.  Old business
     2. New Business
1200 - Meeting Adjourns

Special Interest Group Meetings

The special-interest group meets last Saturday of the month in a member's home. Discussions of models, modeling techniques, research, and reference material are always lively, with virtually everyone taking home some new ideas to use on their own models.

Special interest group meeting locations change from month to month, and are generally published in the club's monthly newsletter, the Lynx.

We're looking for more hosts for special-interest meetings. Please contact a bridge officer if you'd like to host.
