The society conducts monthly meetings, alternating between Virginia and Maryland locations. Meetings are open to visitors. The meeting format consists of brief society business, informal discussions of members' model projects and a program or presentation relating to a nautical or ship modeling topic. Meeting topics may include technique demonstrations, discussions of particular vessels or vessel types, and other subjects of general interest to the club. Members are also invited to bring their own projects, whether in-progress or complete, to share with other members. They are also encouraged to talk about modeling problems they are encountering. Often, a discussion with other members will identify a solution to these problems.
March 2010 Meeting
The 13 March 2010 meeting will be at the Sherwood Regional Library in Fairfax County, Virginia. The address is 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306-2799.
Special-Interest Group Meetings
The special-interest group meets last Saturday of the month in a member's home. Discussions of models, modeling techniques, research, and reference material are always lively, with virtually everyone taking home some new ideas to use on their own models. Meeting locations change from month to month, and are generally published in the club's monthly newsletter, the Lynx.
The March special-interest group meeting will be held at Gene Larson's home, Saturday, 27 March starting at 10 a.m. The directions to Gene's house can be found here. A map of Gene's address can be found here.
